Seeking a Ph.D. Neuroscientist, Biomedical Engineer or related discipline with an interest in utilizing basic neuroscience to bridge gaps in existing technology.

Technologies of interest include, but are not limited to, human performance enhancement, brain-computer interfaces (e.g., EEG, EMG), biologically-inspired artificial intelligence, biologically-inspired high-performance computing, natural language, and combat casualty care (e.g., limb prosthetics).

Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, and computer science are highly desirable. A successful candidate should show excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work flexibly across multiple disciplines, the ability to work independently and creatively under broad supervision, and the ability to develop new expertise as needed. Duties may include the rapid review of the scientific literature, evaluating technical material, developing prototypes, experimental design and data collection, and engagement in forward-thinking basic and applied research, when required.

BS and 1 year experience or MS Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or a related field Strong programming ability (Matlab, C++, Java, Python or other language), familiarity with experimental and computational neuroscience

The candidate should show excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work flexibly across multiple technical disciplines, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage their workflow in accord with the needs of project leaders, and to develop new expertise as needed.

*This position will require overnight travel up to 20 % of the time.  *Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances or applicants who are willing to undergo evaluation for security clearances.
