Join an enthusiastic team in a dynamic drug discovery company. EnVivo Pharmaceuticals seeks a team-oriented and motivated individual who will be a key contributor to the overall success of the Discovery group. The Scientist, In vitro Biology, will provide leadership in multiple ongoing projects in the area of in vitro pharmacology and in target identification for novel projects.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide scientific leadership and direction within the Discovery team
- Mentor and guide the team through hands on lab work and troubleshooting
- Perform assay development and proof-of-concept studies to advance existing programs and to identify new drug targets in the area of neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive impairment
- Manage outsourced in vitro pharmacology projects
- Support pre-clinical development activities
- Represent the Discovery team at Project Team Meetings demonstrating excellent presentation skills.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in cell biology / pharmacology / biochemistry or related discipline and 1-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry. Must have current and detailed knowledge in the field of neurobiology. Background in in vitro assay development for drug discovery or target identification required. Experience with outsourced project management and contract research organizations a plus. Seeking excellent supervisory skills and proven track record of scientific rigor through publications. Should enjoy working independently under general direction in a fast-paced environment. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
